1. Our Commitment
Sustainability is central to who we are at Future Alternative Ltd. Our name reflects our commitment to a net zero future — and that commitment extends beyond the advice we give our clients to how we run our own business. As a specialist renewable energy consultancy, we have both the knowledge and the responsibility to lead by example.
2. Net Zero & Carbon Commitment
Our Commitment: Future Alternative Ltd has made a formal commitment to reach net zero by 2040. We are actively working towards this target, taking steps to measure, reduce and offset our carbon footprint across our operations year on year.
In practice:
We prioritise remote and hybrid working to reduce travel emissions
Where travel is necessary, we favour lower-emission options
We use cloud-based infrastructure to minimise physical energy consumption
We review and report on our carbon position annually as we progress towards our 2040 target
3. Responsible Business Practices
Ethics & Integrity: We conduct our business with the highest standards of integrity, transparency and professionalism. We do not engage in or facilitate corrupt, unethical or harmful practices. Our AML and Anti-Slavery policies reflect this commitment in practice.
Our People: We are committed to being a fair, inclusive and supportive employer. We offer equal opportunities, value diversity and ensure our team is treated with dignity and respect — as set out in our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Statement.
4. Supply Chain Sustainability
Our Approach: We work primarily with UK-based suppliers of professional services and technology. We seek to engage with suppliers who share our values on sustainability, ethical conduct and fair treatment of workers.
Our Expectations: We expect our suppliers and partners to operate responsibly, in compliance with applicable law, and with respect for human rights and environmental standards. We take sustainability into account when selecting and reviewing third-party relationships.
5. Social Impact
Supporting the Energy Transition: Our work directly supports the global transition to renewable energy. By helping clients make better financial and strategic decisions in the renewable energy sector, we contribute to the acceleration of clean energy deployment and the reduction of carbon emissions at scale.
Our Community: We believe in using our expertise to create broader positive impact. We are committed to contributing to a diverse and inclusive energy sector and to supporting the development of talent within it.
6. Governance
Accountability & Transparency: Sustainability is overseen at senior management level at Future Alternative Ltd. We integrate sustainability considerations into our decision-making, hold ourselves accountable to the commitments set out in this statement, and review it annually to ensure it accurately reflects our current position and progress towards our 2040 net zero target.
