Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

1. Introduction 

This statement is published voluntarily by Future Alternative Ltd in accordance with the principles of section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps we have taken to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chains. 

Future Alternative Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms — including forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. 

2. Our Organisation & Supply Chains 

About Future Alternative: Future Alternative Ltd is a specialist renewable energy consultancy based in London, providing financial modelling, business partnering, data analytics and strategy services to clients across the energy sector. 

Our Supply Chains: As a professional services consultancy, our supply chains are limited in scope. We primarily procure professional services, technology, and office-related goods and services from UK-based suppliers. 

3. Our Policies 

Future Alternative Ltd maintains internal policies that reflect our commitment to combating modern slavery. These include: 

  • A zero-tolerance policy on modern slavery and human trafficking 

  • An Equality, Diversity & Inclusion policy ensuring fair and ethical treatment of all workers 

  • Recruitment practices that verify the right to work in the UK for all employees 

  • An Anti-Money Laundering policy that includes checks designed to detect financial flows associated with modern slavery 

4. Due Diligence 

Our Business: We verify the right to work for all employees and contractors. Our recruitment processes are designed to be fair and transparent, reducing the risk of exploitation at the point of hiring. 

Our Supply Chain: We work primarily with established UK-based suppliers. Where we engage with new suppliers, we carry out appropriate checks to satisfy ourselves that they operate ethically and in compliance with applicable law. 

5. Risk Assessment 

Risk Level: As a professional services firm operating primarily in the UK with a highly skilled workforce, Future Alternative Ltd considers its direct exposure to modern slavery risk to be low. 

Ongoing Vigilance: We nonetheless remain vigilant and review our risk exposure periodically, particularly in relation to any new suppliers, markets or geographies we engage with. 

6. Training & Awareness 

All members of the Future Alternative Ltd team are made aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking and understand how to identify and report concerns. We provide guidance on recognising the signs of modern slavery and our expectations regarding ethical conduct in all business dealings. 

7. Reporting a Concern 

Anyone who suspects modern slavery or human trafficking in connection with Future Alternative Ltd or its supply chain is encouraged to raise a concern immediately. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly and handled in confidence.

8. Effectiveness 

We measure our effectiveness in combating modern slavery through the following key performance indicators: 

  • Zero incidents of modern slavery reported or identified 

  • 100% of team members made aware of modern slavery risks 

  • All new suppliers assessed prior to engagement 

We are committed to improving our approach year on year. Where gaps are identified, we take prompt action to address them and update our policies and processes accordingly. 

9. Approval & Review 

This statement has been approved by the senior management of Future Alternative Ltd and is reviewed annually to ensure it remains accurate and relevant.
